Pistol Permits Sheriff BJ Barnes would like to announce a new procedure for obtaining pistol permits.
Sheriff's Youth Academy The Guilford County Sheriff’s Office is offering a Sheriff’s Youth Academy to the younger citizens of Guilford County who are interested in learning more about law enforcement operations within the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office. The classes will start on Monday, June 23rd, 2014 at 6:30pm.
Citizen Observer CitizenObserver is a web based notification toolset for law enforcement that enables citizens to receive and respond to text, email, and web alerts from your agency.
Operation Safe County The Guilford County Sheriff’s Office begins session one of its series of programs called “Operation Safe County” June 16, at Vandalia Christian School. These classes consist of five half-day sessions. They are free, and designed to give the youth of Guilford County the skills to avoid dangerous situations, while enjoying a fun summer-camp-like atmosphere.

Handgun Permit

Under North Carolina General Statutes, the Sheriff of each county is directed to issue weapon permits to qualifying residents of his county, and to non-residents of the county who are collectors. All applications must be completed at the Sheriff's Office in the presence of an officer or the Pistol Permit Clerk. Read more....

Concealed Carry Permit

As of December 1, 1995, certain residents of North Carolina may be eligible to obtain a permit which would allow them to carry a concealed handgun under certain conditions. N.C. Gen. Stat. § 14-415.11 No other weapons may be carried concealed pursuant to such permit. Read more....
