Bureaus

The Court Services Bureau is comprised of three Detention Facilities, two Bailiff’s Sections, Transportation, Special Projects, and Community Services.  The Detention Facilities within the Sheriff’s Office are the Greensboro Detention Facility, High Point Detention Facility, and the Prison Farm, all of which are operated under the direction of the Court Services Bureau Commander.

Major D. F. Montgomery serves as the commander of the Guilford County Sheriff's Office Court Services Bureau.

The most recognized section of any law enforcement agency is the uniformed patrol division. The Guilford County Sheriff's Office is proud to serve our citizens 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Operations Bureau consists of Legal Process, Reserves, Staff Duty, Special Operations Division, Patrol Districts, and School Resource Officers.

The Guilford County Sheriff's Office is unique in its jurisdictional structure. Jurisdiction is held anywhere within the county. Certain Law Enforcement responsibilities is shared with the incorporated cities of Archdale, Burlington, Gibsonville, Greensboro, High Point and Kernersville.

Major J. T. Sheppard serves as the commander of the Guilford County Sheriff's Office Operations Bureau.
