Sheriff BJ Barnes reports that on Monday, November 7, 2011 the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office arrested Lauretta Michelle Cheek, date of birth 3/24/1969 of 6236 Creekbrooke Court, Greensboro, NC.

Based on a complaint initially received by the Guilford County Department of Public Health, the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office began an investigation into a complaint that Lauretta Michelle Cheek was performing cosmetic enhancement procedures without a medical license.

The complainant alleged Ms. Cheek was operating her activity from rented hotel rooms in Greensboro. Through the course of the investigation Detectives were able to identify the location where the incident occurred and with the assistance of the victim, a positive identification was made naming Lauretta Michelle Cheek as the offender.

Lauretta Michelle Cheek was charged with one count of Practicing Medicine without a License.

Ms. Cheek was previously charged in 2008 for Practicing Medicine Without a License and Obtaining Controlled Substance by Fraud/Forgery, and is currently on probation as a result of that prosecution. Lauretta Michelle Cheek received a Written Promise to Appear in Court.
