Sheriff BJ Barnes with the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office reports that an inmate was bitten by one of the Departments K-9 earlier today. Inmate Sai Ksor was being escorted from the court house to Jail Central when he dropped to the floor and began kicking at officers. One Officer was kicked several times in the leg and the inmate attempted to kick another officer.

Sheriff BJ Barnes reports that on May 16, 2013, Elliott Maurice Browning aka “E” was arrested on outstanding warrants for his involvement in a robbery and shooting that occurred on May 6, 2013, at 4601 McKnight Mill Road in Greensboro.

Sheriff BJ Barnes is pleased to announce there will be a Department Awards Ceremony today, at 3:00 p.m., at the Sheriff’s Office, 400 W. Washington Street, Greensboro, NC. Officers will receive Lifesaving Awards, Commendation Bars, Deputy and Rookie Deputy of the Year and Detention and Rookie Detention Officer of the Year.

Sheriff BJ Barnes reports that the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office has identified the suspect in the robbery and shooting that occurred on the 6th of May as Elliott Maurice Browning b/m D.O.B. 12/16/1989.

Sheriff BJ Barnes reports that on May 6 2013, at approximately 7:05pm, Deputies with the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office responded to 4601 Mcknight Mill Road in reference to a robbery and a shooting.

Sheriff BJ Barnes reports that the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office executed a narcotics search warrant for a suspected marijuana growing operation at 2902 Regents Park Lane, Greensboro.  Upon entering the residence, detectives identified a clandestine laboratory which contained chemicals and components that could be used to manufacture synthetic narcotics and hazardous devices.  Detectives contacted the Greensboro Police Hazardous Devices Team to respond.  Other agencies that provided assistance were Greensboro Fire Department, Greensboro Hazardous Materials Team, Guilford County and Greensboro Emergency Managements, and Guilford County EMS.
